That hook, that riff. Sometimes I hear it when I’m unlocking my car, as if some crazy fucker is going to steal my fumbled keys and make me kiss the curb. Of course, in these secret life day dreams, I am the hero, some badassviolentChrist who saves myself and whatever person is riding shotgun. Much like Horror movies, music has fucked my life up. If I were to ever actually combat someone, which tune would rattle in that space between my ears and my heart. Probably this.
Slowly, like everything else in my life at the moment, the trivia is bringing greater success. We have yet to collect anything tangible, but the pride factor makes the evening worth the bar tab. The right coupling of people is … Continue reading
Who are you and what do you want? This video is a shame. The camera work and the stupid screened backgrounds. That riff is monster though. Some quarter bends will take your early nineties alt-rock to another dimension. I bought it. Still play that lick whenever I finish tuning up a guitar. Great band.
You peak a little early; you don’t win. You peak a little late; you don’t win. I’m alone in my home. I’ve moved the dog’s bed into the living room to rest next to me while I’m on the couch. … Continue reading
Powerful images for a forceful song. I have never been disappointed by any of his material. It’s always money, or time, well spent. How many artists can say that? How many have that effect? I shaved my head today. Well, I didn’t. I paid someone to shave my head. Nobody thinks it looks good. This makes me like it more. I’ve always been that guy. My mother made me that way. There is a … Continue reading
“Through a hole in the drapes…”Reminds me of all those days spent in friends’ dirty apartments wondering what life would be like what I was in my twenties. Would I be successful or devastated? God, success has such a different definition these days.
Everybody thinks they could play baseball or be a stand-up comedian. I’m convinced that I can’t do either. The night lags. This is the slow day of the week. The single day, you know, one out of seven, when there … Continue reading
A clever American rock and roll band. Smooth and classic, yet innovative in a non-threatening or completely foreign way. I enjoy their take on tunes. There is more depth that they initially suggest.
